Chromecast regression: choosing audio track

In the last week or so, I’ve suddenly lost the ability to choose which audio track is getting used when casting video from my Android phone.

It used to be that I’d start playback, hit playback settings and have a drop-down with audio and sub tracks to choose. These have vanished.

Changing the audio track before starting playback appears to have no effect on what’s used when casting. I’m assuming this is an Android apk change but haven’t tried to find a rollback to confirm yet.

Anyone else experiencing this? I just wanna hear my commentaries!

Having the same issue, very annoying to say the least.

I’ve rolled back to the last October release until I hear it’s fixed. No Plex TV and Movies, but the audio options are back.

Holy crap, it took me way too much time to finally find a discussion on this issue. Just added Fruits Basket (2019) to my Plex library and played, Picked the Japanese Audio just fine but no subtitles were displayed. Same issue as you describe. I used to be able to change the audio and subtitle tracks to use for what is currently playing but I couldn’t find it. In my case, changing the tracks from the episode page before playing works and it seems to remember that choice which is nice. But for some shows/movies, we sometimes feel like watching in english for a change. Not sure why they removed the option to change the current stream. Please bring it back.
