I’m trying to get ahead of the changes to the Roku clients, and installed PlexAmp on my phone.

I began streaming a couple of albums this morning, starting playback in PlexAmp and 'casting to a 4k Chromecast with the Plex client installed. The Chromecast did start the Plex client and displayed the expected track info during playback.

A minor issue: pause between tracks. That’s a bit of a problem with some albums where tracks are intended to flow/seque immediately.

A rather major issue: loss of audio at a track change. Both PlexAmp and the Chromecast client indicated the proper track yet audio was completely lost. Audio seemed to be regained by completely stopping playback, and beginning the track again.

I really hope that this is not the audio experience that I should expect. The tracks should be fine as I’ve played them before.

The Chromecast receiver does not support gapless audio.

I’m not sure about the loss of audio, the moment music is cast with Chromecast, it’s that device which does the playback.

I’m having a similar issue : tracks suddenly stop, lose audio or « stutter » like an « old vinyl » I don’t believe this is a problem with chromecast device because other apps casting to it work fine. This seems to be specific to PLeX. I’m using Plexamp iOS version
