the plex mobile app works fine locally on ios devices, but i recently started using it via chromecast again from my iphone after a long hiatus, and there have been multiple regressions or feature removals. first, subtitles just fail to enable when casting. second, skip intro doesnt seem to appear at all anymore. finally, the app constantly disconnects from the chromecast and refreshes when going back to the app (i.e. pausing to look something up, or to rewind/ff, etc.)
I also noticed this issue on the iOS app. I cast and enable subtitles via the iOS app and as of recent (last few months!) the subtitles feature is broken. I have to go on another device and start the movie or show and enable subtitles then if I were to stop the movie or show and use my mobile iOS app to cast and start it, it then works as the server remembers my preference for how I enabled subtitles on that particular play.
It’s very frustrating as I’ve tested it on other family members iPhones and same issue. It’s the plex app on iOS. It broke a few months prior and still hasnt been fixed even though many updates have come out. I’m surprised this hasn’t been a larger issue in the community. It should have been fixed immediately I would have imagined.
When you play media, you go to the three dots, playback settings and then try and enable subtitles and in the app it shows you selected the subtitle but then nothing happens. Like as if the command never sends to your server to tell it to enable subtitles.
And I can confirm all your other issues also happen to me.
