[Chromecast with Google TV] No audio when using Bluetooth Headphones

Server Version#: 1.24.0.4930
Player Version#:Unknown, latest on Google TV

I recently purchased a pair of Bose QC35’s to use with my Google TV dongle. Everything has been working well and synced properly untill I started watching Plex content. All of my video content that is originally in 5.1 surround format has no audio via Bluetooth. I played around with the pass-through setting and it doesn’t seem to help. I assume for some reason Plex is unable to re-encode the audio format. I can’t find a way to manually set the audio to stereo. I disabled surround sound on the Google TV but that did nothing as well.

How would I go about correcting this? I recently moved into a basement apartment with thin walls and I don’t have the luxury of using my sound system much anymore.

Edit: Most of the time with pass-through disabled, Plex won’t play anything. If I force video quality to 340p and under it converts to stereo and plays fine. How do I convert to stereo without reducing video quality?

Despite my setup being HDMI through a receiver, I have to set Plex to use Optical passthrough and turn off any optical encodings for bluetooth headphones to work. More recently, I’ve also had to go into the Chromecast settings and turn off surround sound to use them. If I’m not using them, I then need to re-enable surround sound in the Chromecast settings and turn on the AC3 optical encoding option in Plex to get my surround sound working again. Super annoying but at least I can get it to work
