Playback fails on 5.1 channel audio files when bluetooth Headphones are connected

When I try to play 5.1 channel(AC3, DTS) movies while bluetooth headset is connected to Android-TV box, plex show ‘Error occurred’ and doesn’t play at all. No problem with 2 channel movies.

If I play 5.1 channel movies without bluetooth headset, Movies play well. But when I connect bluetooth headset while it’s playing, Plex shows error immediately and stops playing.

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing. I have to go into the Plex settings and turn off passthrough OR go into my Android TV settings and disable surround sound to get Plex playback to work. It’s really annoying to have to toggle one of those options on/off all the time.

Other apps handle this properly, such as Netflix, YouTube, etc. Those apps even handle switching on my headphones in the middle of watching something, which makes the stream restart with the simplified audio, allowing me to easily switch between speakers and headphones. I’d like to see Plex able to do the same thing, but it should at least be able to choose the right audio stream (or mix-down) at the start of playback.
