I can not get the pre-roll video/paths to work at all. I’ve never had them enabled before but found a couple of 30 sec intros I thought would be nice so off I went… Seems simple enough for even the remotely tech-savvy soul, but alas NOTHING works, not even trailers in general.
The file path like you have for the Shield is correct. Those settings only control whether the preroll will be available. You still need to enable it on the client. Choose to play at leas 1 trailer, then the preroll will appear after it.
I have not been able to play trailers for a long time, getting the same error message as above: “Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.”
Same problem on all media players including web browsers.
The server runs on a QNAP 253Be NAS with all the latest updates installed.
Any ideas?
a) I am not sure what kind of file the trailers Plex downloads automatically are, but I guess it should be some standard file type…?
b) The server is regularly updated. and I’m on the latest build for QNAP is Version (1.15.3.835). I have the same problem both on NVivida Shield TV and when I use Google Chrome Browser as the media player.
c) Is pre-roll the same as a trailer, and do I need to specify a path where the server save the trailers?
