Preroll / trailer issues

So I have a interesting issue that I have not seen on the forums. When I have my preroll video or trailers enabled in plex Some movies play fine after the preroll video or trailer plays and other movies greet me with a error saying that the “Connection to the server was lost. You can try again or select a different server instead.” If I turn off the preroll video or trailers the movie I am trying to play works fine. This also happens if a create a play que some videos just have issues automatically playing after another video and it seems like its the movies with DTS audio that have the issue so far. I can get screen shots and logs if anyone can help that would be cool I have a home theater and have been working on a movie experience with automated lights and would love to share if someone can help me out. Thanks!

Also to add to this my plex server is running on windows server 2012r2 and no other clients have this issue with trailers or the preroll videos. Only the nvidia shield player.

Some movies play fine for me, others error after the pre-roll saying the “PMS has been lost” If I remove the pre-roll all together, all movies play fine…

I’m running the app on the Shield as well. PMS is on a Win7 box.

I too often ran into this issue… the way I got around it without removing the pre-roll is while the pre-roll is playing, I skip it directly to the movie… then the movie will play; but if I waited for the pre-roll to be done, I could never get to the movie.

For most of the time, it works great with pre-roll so I left it there…

Havent Found a fix yet… Wish the plex engineers would look into this a little more tho since we all have paid for a plexpass. The nvidia shield so far has been a great device. Id hate to abandon it just because of the preroll not working.

Do Plex Engineers monitor these forums for issues?.. Ive had plex for a long time and haven’t ever had any issues till this!

As of today, this is still happening. Can’t play the movie after most pre-rolls.
