Class 6 8gb Micro SD performance for rasplex 1.0.3 (raspberry pi 3)

hi there,

I’ve accidentally ordered a class 6 micro SD card instead of the recommended class 10.

I’ll be using rasplex purely to plug into my TV as a client to stream from my Mac mini plex server.

Will this be a problem? I’ll be streaming 1080p mkv video files.

Do I need to order a class 10 or will the class 6 do?

Class 10 is recommended, no harm in trying the Class 6.

UPDATE: I’ve got it all hooked up and it works flawlessly! Tested with 1080p MKV big movie files and everything works fine. Tried fast forwarding and rewinding and not a glitch at all.

Also tried other video files for transcoding purposes and works fine as well (obviously this is more to do with the server side) but runs without a glitch.

Works great with my samsung remote via CEC and my Bose Cinemate universal remote. 5.1 audio works great as well.

The user interface is sooo snappy and fast compared to the samsung plex app which is native on my 2012 series 7 samsung TV and i haven’t done control precaching yet.

Very very happy so far.

Feedback:

  1. Would like quick way to change users (similar to the samsung tv plex app)

  2. Also a quick way to change servers rather than having all of them listed. eg. I have my movies under the title “movies” which is fine but when I have my 2 mates servers listed as well, they have named there movie folders “movies” so I have 3 the same. Yes it has the server with smaller writing underneath each one but I would prefer to view each server separately rather than all together. (samsung tv plex app does this well IMO)
