I have come back to using Plex DVR with Pass from Channels after a long break. Everything working well so far.
Recordings seem fine - only just been testing. One query is how I can ensure recordings I have aborted or deleted can be removed from DVR schedule. Is this possible?
Also I selected a guide source when configuring DVR that I guess was download. I cannot find a way to change guide to OTA as Freeview OTA (in UK) is generally very good. Not had a proper look yet but any pointers welcome.
Other issues for now not fully investigated are recordings not necessarily starting and guide not updating.
You cannot change the type of guide used. You have to remove the DVR and set it up again to pick OTA this time.

Not quite clear on what you mean. If you have a partial recording, you can delete it just like any other video. If you want to remove it from the schedule so it won’t record again, you have to delete that manually. Plex does not remove recurring recordings just because you cancel one.
I will look to setup DVR again and try OTA. While I am setting up I am keen to try different options to see what works best. In UK I am lucky that OTA guide is very accurate and detailed - it also changes dynamically to reflect program changes.
I noticed I can delete a partial recording. What has happened is I have an orphaned recording. I suspect I have deleted the file manually on disk not in Plex. What is odd is it has vanished from the library I have dedicated to Plex TV (I only recorded maybe 10 second) but remains in the schedule. All other shows have a play button beside them but within DVD schedule this one show has no play icon - and indeed no file!
That is still probably not that clear. On grand scheme it is not that important. Just trying to build my knowledge and ability to manage Plex. Part of reason I run Raspberry PIs, my own servers, Linux and apps like Plex is I like to be able to manage, diagnose and repair my own kit.
I think I have worked it out and stems from my own misunderstanding.
I selected a recorded show and it disappeared from the TV Shows library. It remained in the DVR schedule but without the play icon. That makes sense. The schedule shows what has/had been scheduled even if it is watched and/or deleted.
