I received a message that my tv guide would be lost after 1 Jan and that I needed to delete and recreate a new DVR. After I completed it, Plex no longer had any show listed in my DVR schedule. If I look up the show again and add to record it shows up with future listings… Do I really need to re-add ALL of my shows?
Yes. Removing the DVR removes all scheduled recordings for that DVR too.
Right, but when I re-add the DVR, the schedule should come back without me re-adding all the shows, right?
No, the recording schedule is deleted when the DVR is deleted.
The shows I record still showed up under “RECORDING PRIORITY”, but I had to delete and recreate them in order for future episodes to be detected… seems wrong that I would need to delete them all and re-add
(maybe I am not explaining myself that well :()
Yes you would have needed to recreate them. This was mentioned in the LiveTV EPG Update You’ve Been Waiting For forum post:
No it doesn’t, at least not on macOS. I’ve updated PMS a couple of times since the EPG “upgrade” (I’m currently running Version 1.21.1.3842) and deleted/added my DVR multiple times. The recordings list is still there and live TV and recordings don’t work.
Update: I had to delete my entire installation and reinstall to get Live TV and DVR working again. #fail
