Clearing bad information

Occasionally I have a situation where plex downloads information for a TV show but it doesn’t download the title, so it will just say something like “Episode 13”. I check tvdb and it has the right information by the time I check. But I can’t get it to put the right info in plex. I’ve done a refresh for that episode and even removed the file and put a new one with a different name (within right convention) and everything. Other than over-riding the entry manually, is there a way to somehow clear what it pulls for that entry and have it re-download fresh?

If the bad info came from:

1) embedded ‘Title’ tag in a mp4 / m4v file

Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase

Or fix the embedded ‘Title’ tag in your files, so it contains sensible data.

continue with 2)

2) previous ‘bad’ match due to wrong filename or embedded metadata

perform the Plex Dance

3) too fresh data

(happens, when a new episode didn’t have all metadata available when your server attempted to fetch them)
clear the local cache for the metadata agents

Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!!

While you are at it, perform the same agent reordering for your movies as well.

Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
and
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase

Thanks again!
