Client unable to start, syntax error, unexpected token '<"

Server Version#: 4.132.2 1.40.4.8679
Player Version#: I am unsure as plex unable to start
The player on my Kydos TV unable to start due to Syntax error, unexpected token '<". Even after app reset. Plex-app from Foxxum.

Hello

Kydos brad is unknown to me, but I assume it’s an android based Smart-TV?

Plex has no app on Foxxum!

I can only suggest, if your TV is Android based, that you try our official client from Google Play Store

Well the client has been working for the last 3 months. The only thing that has changed in the update to the Plex Media Server on the day it stoped working. There has been no Update on the TV side.

I don’t know if it’s Android based, What I can say is the TV had no access to the Google Play Store so I only have access to the Apps that my TV gives me. I have sent a support request to Foxxum as My TV only offers “Plex” from them and my instance of Plex Media Server tells me it’s 5.85.0

I wish I could take a screen shot to prove I am not making it up. As a end user of a TV, I don’t know who makes what and in fact don’t care. I can only go by the names on the box and screen. On the box it says Kydos, on the screen it says Plex and Foxxum so one of these companies must take responsibility we will find out in time I hope.

Apart from the TV problem I do like your product and hope you continue the work. Again Thank you for your replay.

Do you have an url do the download page for the client?

What’s a url and how do I find it? On the TV remote I press the button that looks like a house and on the screen there is a a a black square with PLEX in the middle. I move with the arrow key on my remote to that box and press OK.

O I do have a update for you. I checked on Support.plex.tv for Which Smart TV models are supported and in the list is:

Foxxum CTV OS
Plex is available on 2019+ model year televisions running Foxxum CTV OS. For further details on specific TV models, you can contact support@foxxum.com.

Wow, and I stand corrected here.
I’ll have to ask some folks, so please await

OK, just thought someone should get to know when things like this happen. I will take a guess that there will be a push update to the TV. In the mean time I am looking at replacement for this TV and was wondering what would be a good make to run plex on.

Get an external device and attach it to your TV, since those normally have more horsepower, like a Shield or an AppleTV

LOL Love it. Yes that is my answer too. The hole point of getting a smart TV was to get ride of the netbook I was using. I had put in storage 12 months ago. I supposes I will have to dig it out again.

Thanks again and I just hope that between chatting here and my service request to Foxxum/Kydos the error report might get back to the right ears. I know it won’t but🤞keep well.

Hi there, I would like to let you know there has been a automatic push update to the TV plex client from 5.86.0 to version 5.86.4 and it is now working.

Thanks for your help.
