Player Version#: 1.35.1.2632-c6783c78
The Close Player icon when a movie/TV show is playing is a blank white square. This appears to be a graphical bug.

On an unrelated note, this version is sad visually. Everything looks super plain and boring now.

This button used to have an X inside the square box I circled in my screenshot, unless I’m crazy and somehow misremembering it. That makes more sense. This just looks like an empty box. I have never seen a blank square be used as a stop button in a configuration like this. I know what the button is because I’ve been using Plex for almost two years now, and because if I hover over it the tool-tip shows that it is the button to close it, but this is NOT intuitive like you or @OttoKerner seem to think it is. It would be one thing if these icons were color-coded. But this looks like an empty white square, and since this previously contained an X it looks like a bug. There’s a giant empty box next to all of the other icons that make sense (from our perspective).
Is there a way to revert to a previous version? The main download page for the Windows player doesn’t link to older versions anywhere, and I really hate the new UI in this version (including this button).
Plex doesn’t host older versions of the clients.
Give the new icons a chance to grow on you… they don’t deserve to be hated
It isn’t just the new icon. The gradient background was replaced with a solid background, and it makes the UI look far more bland and boring. This will not grow on me, and I absolutely loathe the way it looks when I open the Plex player now. I’ll see if I can get an older version of the player somewhere else though.
In case anyone else wants it, here is the link to version 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4:
I’m not sure if this will force update at some point or not, but I installed this (without uninstalling the newer version) and this is definitely the version of Plex that I enjoy.

That makes way more sense!
