Cloud Sync not working properly - Sporadic, Glitchy

Guys I don’t know about anyone else but I am having no problems with bitcasa. And their plans are on point with Google drive though their free storage is not as high. Just an option. Only downside you can only upload 2 gb files.

So I have finally read this entire thread and in doing so decided to unlink Google Drive and just use DropBox to see if the issue continues. It does, so it does not appear to only be an issue with Google Drive.

When I was using Google Drive I was able to get a good portion of my shows to upload (2GB+ and all) but the Plex Client on my Android did not recognize any of them, so it showed like my cloud library was empty. I was able to watch two entire shows straight from the Photos app on my Android though (which links with Google Drive), but that isn't as well organized as Plex.

Attached is one of my Logs of two failed sync attempts to DropBox. It created the folder but never uploaded anything. Also attached is a picture so you can see the two file sizes of the uploads. One is above 2GB the other well below, but neither uploads.

Plex Media Server Version 0.9.11.1

I have a bitcasa unlimited account.  I've been trying for 2 weeks now to get my media into the cloud.  What gives?

I couldn't get attachments to work here, so here's a link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0AorkukBSi-ampKRl9OcE83bEU/view?usp=sharing

here is my log. ive uploaded 3 episodes of downton abbey the third is currently in progress

Bitcasa is returning a 503 unauthorized error. Looks like it's happening after the first upload chunk and then the server automatically retries. We're investigating more.

The server log definitely shows you encountering the 2GB size limit.

You're running an old version of Plex Media Server - please update to the current 0.9.11.1 version. You're running into the SSLv3 issues since bitcasa no longer allows those connections.

Hey Chris,

I'm having issues too. CloudSync has worked exactly one time, and it wouldn't show up in the server listing, only a show that hadn't synced -- but had tried to.

Tried reinstalling the Media Server, but every time I watch the sync it goes to 1%, then back to "waiting to be uploaded". Quite frustrating as you can imagine!

Your log shows an active upload in progress that doesn't appear to have any issues. It's still successfully uploading when you grabbed the log. You'll need to wait until you run into the problem before you grab the log.

Ah I see. I could see the log working, the status page is a little glitchy. It never seems to show the status. I'll let you know if it ever completes. Thanks Chris!

I just wanted to let you know, after two weeks or so fighting this issue, last night I upgraded and now it's working.  Thanks for your help, and it's appreciated.

I'm guessing I was in the SSLv3 bunch, considering I wasn't using Google Drive..  only Copy and Bitcasa

Hi there,

I'm having trouble getting uploads started in Cloud Sync.

I notice there are some error messages in the logs.

I was hoping for some help understanding how to fix this.

Thanks.

I'm also having issues with Cloud Sync.  It worked for me several weeks ago, but I have not been able to get it to work since.

I followed the topic instructions and have a recent log.  It is stuck on "waiting to upload".  The log indicates a 401 unauthorized even though I have reauthorized my Cloud connections several times.

You're both experiencing an unfortunate and unanticipated side-effect of the new Plex Home feature. When Plex Home is activated, there are some [security changes](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/203948786-Plex-Home-Security-Changes) on the server such that requests must be authenticated. The Cloud Sync requests in the server aren't correctly authenticated, however.

This should be resolved in the next Plex Media Server release, which we hope to have available very soon. In the meantime, though, I'm afraid that the only workaround is to remove yourself from the Home. Very sorry for the trouble and inconvenience; it certainly wasn't intended to be affected like this.

I suspected as much based on another post the other day, but I couldn't figure out for sure.  Thanks for the info!

I just tried "leaving" my own Home and I reversed the changes made by the Home feature, restarted PMS and I'm still having trouble.  What is the proper way to disable/turn off the home feature?

Edit:  It seems the first steps I took worked, I just need to be more patient :)  My Cloud sync is working again.

Thank you for the answer, you have an idea of the release date of the next version of PMS, this feature (cloud sync) I really miss too (ERROR - CloudSync: Error 401 Requesting XML). Thanks.

Yesterday's 0.9.11.5 Plex Pass release contains that fix.

So what do we do if we've got the new PlexPass release and still getting stuck on "Waiting to Upload?"

My cloud sync to google keeps getting deleted and then begins retranscoding and reuploading.  This has happened MANY times. Log files attached. I see a bunch of delete requests to google occurring in log 5. I didn't see anything that seemed to have triggered it. I was playing a movie at the time.

I am stuck at the done with transcoding but not uploading phase.

It appears to be only certain types of videos (ones from a particular folder).

I uninstalled, reinstalled, then in the log file, it shows:

* Startup

* Successfully transcoding & uploading 1 small movie

* Successfully transcoding 1 movie from the suspect folder.

* Stuck at uploading the second movie (that's in the suspect folder)

I looked into the logs and it appears the following is the only error message:

Dec 23, 2014 23:41:11:008 [5708] ERROR - MyPlex: Error 424 requesting XML from: https://plex.tv/sync/upload?path=%2Fsync%2F59451da8-6534-4d86-961b-a924bfc30ae6%2Fb10d0d53655849638abb69bd10f76b9a4d49570f%2Flibrary%2Fparts%2F700%2F46%2Ffile%2Emp4&contentType=video%2Fmp4&contentLength=918041188&type=media&auth_token=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You both appear to be running into issues related to the known problem with [Google Drive uploads and 1hr tokens](https://forums.plex.tv/topic/115154-google-drive-upload-issues/). We're continuing to work with Google on this.

My cloud sync has been successfully uploaded and maintained for weeks at a time. My assumption is the sync would continue to work correctly if I did not add new files to the synced collection. That seems to be when a full delete, retranscode, and reupload are triggered. I'm not sure I see how the google token issue applies.

My movies are not playing in cloud sync. What should i do?
