Cloud Sync not working properly - Sporadic, Glitchy

I think I finally found it.

I have another log to add, this time from my desktop using Google Drive.

Here is another log file.  This is also from my Desktop trying to upload to Google Drive.  This was transcode that was done last night and didn't upload, so I left it alone and rebooting in the morning.  This is the log from this morning, and contains about an hour and a half of it failing to upload.

Just wondering, is this thread even being checked still, or should I create a whole new post about my problem?

Thanks.

It seems like many of these failures are related to the 2GB file limit for synced files.

Shouldn't Plex notify that a file can't be uploaded because of it's size instead of just falling into an infinite loop of uploading the same file over and over? Or maybe it can have a quality setting that keeps files under the 2GB limit.

Of the few that I have tried to get uploaded, none have been larger than 500MB, so I should still be way under the size limit.

All videos fail to upload via cloud sync.  Please advise.

Also getting errors with Cloud Sync frequently, here is my log file:

I brought my laptop to work to try on a much faster upload (I have about 1.2Mbps up at home, and 20Mbps at work) and I was able to get the file (about 450MB in size) uploaded to Google Drive without much problem.  Watching the task manager, after the encoding is completed, the file uploads for about 3-5 mins, then about a half an hour after that the file is ready for playout.

Could my upload troubles have to do with the lower send speeds I get with my home connection?  Is there a set timeout for apps to upload files to Google Drive?  I've noticed a few times at home a file will successfully upload after I've stopped paying attention to plex and rebooted several times.  Is plex able to send parts of the files each time the program is started up, or does it have to start all over again from the beginning?

I could be completely wrong on this, just what I've been able to try myself.

Apologies for the very delayed response here, folks. We've been super busy around Plex lately.

I found something...I have no idea if this is correct

You're running into the known Google Drive issue: your upload is taking longer than 1 hour to complete and so it fails.

Jul 01, 2014 12:33:03:866 [3584] DEBUG - CloudSync: Finished uploading with status 200 (download status 200)
...
Jul 01, 2014 13:39:56:755 [5172] DEBUG - CloudSync: Finished uploading with status 401

It finishes the first chunk at 12:33 and then slightly over an hour later, a chunk fails to upload (with a 401 Unauthorized error) because the token has expired.

I think I finally found it.

That is, indeed, the correct log. However, I don't see any active Cloud Sync attempts in what that log covers. The only Cloud Sync activity I see in that particular log is it checking existing items and seeing that they're already completed.

This also appears to be the known Google Drive 1-hr token issue:

Oct 15, 2014 08:53:10:202 [4060] DEBUG - CloudSync: Starting sync
...
Oct 15, 2014 10:17:58:797 [4060] DEBUG - CloudSync: Finished uploading with status 401

Could my upload troubles have to do with the lower send speeds I get with my home connection?

Indeed, that's definitely at least a decent chunk of the problems you're experiencing since it makes it much more likely for you to run into the 1-hr token issue.

This was an interesting one:

Oct 15, 2014 17:55:27:989 [11144] DEBUG - CloudSync: Finished uploading with status -35

Apparently a "-35" status indicates an SSL handshake error, and this week it would be caused by the POODLE vulnerability and the fact that SSLv3 was turned off due to it. We're trying to use SSLv3 to talk to Copy, which fails. The 0.9.11.1 version of Plex Media Server should hopefully resolve that issue.

If you were having issues with Copy.com uploads prior to ~Oct 14, then that would have been something else, but the log you shared didn't indicate anything. If that's the case, then please upgrade to the new PMS release and try again. If you still have issues, we'll need another log file covering a Cloud Sync attempt.

This log doesn't appear to be running long enough. It shows a large number of items are already synced and that a new upload starts, but the log ends before there's complete information.

I updated and uploaded another file - still stuck in "waiting to be uploaded".  In addition I also went in and re-authorized my clouds before syncing.

It took a quite a few hours - but finally a movie showed up in the cloud.  Thanks.

Here i am throwing my 2 cents in chris. Thank you for your precious time and i hope we can get it resolved. My files are not uploading and of course i have no idea why. when it does it goes very slow.

I don't see anything going wrong in that log offhand. The upload appears to be proceeding normally/correctly. The log barely covers more than 20min, though, so it appears that the upload is still continuing when you ended the log. We'd need a full log covering an entire Cloud Sync attempt up to where you run into the issue (as well as a description of *precisely* what trouble you're having).

ok i will wait to see if it ever finishes and post the log thank you for the quick reply.

it hasn't uploaded for a while. so heres an updated log.

You're running into the Google Drive 1hr token [known issue](https://forums.plex.tv/topic/115154-google-drive-upload-issues/).

Is it normal for the upload to go to 2-3% stop and then restart at 1%? i have had this happen with all files. though it seems they have been going through with bitcasa it is just weird to me and any clarification would be helpful.

It's possible for that to happen, but without a log file covering the Cloud Sync attempt, we can't look into why it might be occurring.

here is my log. ive uploaded 3 episodes of downton abbey the third is currently in progress

Once again? That is not very good customer service as everyone with a pass is paying money or has paid money. My sync cloud isn't working either, and I just bought the 1TB and the monthly pass.

Just remember that you're not talking to customer service reps, you're taking directly with the developers.
