If I view a particular film, under related items I can see the collection. However, after the first 6 items this tries to load in ALPHABETICALLY instead:
Furthermore, it then just gives up and fails to load the last few items - presumably because it can’t make up it’s mind what order it’s trying to load them in:
Finally, clicking the title “Avengers Collection” takes me through to the collection, which shows entirely in alphabetical order, despite being set to show in release order:
It’s all pretty messed up, and something is clearly very wrong here. I have had this issue for many months, through many many updates and restarts.
I’d also like to vent my frustration that the order setting for collections is exceptionally well hidden - I didn’t even know that was an option until this week! Why not have an order dropdown in the main UI, just like when browsing all movies?
Your effort in fixing this issue is very much appreciated!
Turns out I am not able to reproduce this. I had changed my sort title so they would appear next to each other in my library (before collections was a feature). So setting to “Alphabetical” it just appeared that the sort order was wrong.
I am not able to reproduce the issue with the “Release Date”. Mine sorts correctly.
I have repaired the databases, to no avail. The issue is still as before - it is not missing posters, it loads the first 6 items in release date order, then tries to load the rest alphabetically, then fails to load text or images for the last few items because the logic has changed part way through.
I have this issue as well, when I change the collection order from Release Date to Alphabetical, the issue is resolved. But changing it back will result in the error again.
I am running into this issue as well. As others have noted, it only happens for collections sorted by release date, if a collection is sorted alphabetically then the items load fine. It also seems to only happen with larger collections, if a collection only contains 2-4 items then they all load fine. I haven’t been able to determine how large a collection needs to be before the bug surfaces, however, but I’ll of course update this post if I’m able to determine that.
