I can make collections of music but I cannot play them.
When I press play on a collection in the web client, Mac client or Linux client I always get a Playback Error saying “an error occurred loading items to play”.
Is this one of the features that only works on AMD64 based media servers? I run the Media Server on ARM. Version 1.24.4.5081
In the debug log: Content-Length is -1 (of total: -1).
Are you making the collections by adding artists or albums? If so, you’re probably seeing the same thing as this report:
If you add tracks, it should work.
Ah yes thanks, indeed it’s the collection of albums bug. I also notice that my iPhone can play the collection but all other clients I use cant.
Hopefully it will be fixed, I like the idea of album collections.
yeah but that doesn’t solve the issue. again i can play the collections fine from iphone, why won’t it play from the web player on windows in a browser ?? it’s a bug, please fix it !!!
I didn’t say it was a fix, I just confirmed that it’s a known issue. And I don’t work for Plex, I’m just another user.
Yeah I have the same issue with the browser (chrome). I also notice issues when downloading collections for offline playback on the android app. I’ll see a list of empty, blank albums in my collection on android (Downloads & Sync when I’m offline, using the Downloads version) that I didn’t even download in the first place. Items I download from my collection list don’t show up under “collections” I have to use that list that shows all your offline downloads to access them conveniently.
That sounds like a different problem, and should probably be in its own thread.
