I love the “Collections” feature but would like to see more sort options (in collection view: edit–advanced–Collection order). Release date and Alphabetical are good for series (star wars, Fast&Furious, etc…), director collections (Tarantino Collection, Hitchcock Collection, etc…) and franchises (marvel cinematic universe) but not so great for broad collections (“older classics” that span from 1921-1975 ).
In some cases, I think it would be great to sort by Year or Release Date (newest to oldest) as in large, broad collections, I would have more movies than what fit on one screen. I have a preferance for “Jaws” and “2001: A Space Odyssey” up front rather than my Chaplin stuff
Collections are a game changer for my library management so I hope to see some attention to it’s potential.
I think I can see your point on the release date ordering (allowing sort new-to-old in addition to the available old-to-new).
No idea with what you mean with sorting by your preferred movies… do you mean „by user rating“?
Haven’t gotten to customizing them in photoshop. Simply found them by google image searches. A good trick for this style is adding the term “minimal”, “minimalist” or “simple” after the movie name to get a similar type of artwork.

Sorry, lacked clarity. I was referring to my collection called “Older Classics”. Currently, the first few movies are from the 20’s and 30’s. The last ones go to the 70’s. I personally prefer that my server users see from the most recent to the oldest rather than the current oldest first and newest last in the list.
This is only for broad collections, not series like the Star Wars franchise.
