Collections slow to load and may crash

In the experimental feature, and yesterday’s rollout of the public version, collections are slow to load content.

Also, if I click on a movie in a collection to view details and then hit return, I have to wait for the posters to refresh before I click another one. Otherwise, the app crashes.

Aside from that, I’ve said elsewhere and I’ll say it again, I blooming love the new design.

Same issue here on the Apple TV 4K. Previously collections would instantly.
After the last update, collections take anywhere from 30secs - 60secs to load.

I’ve gone back to searching for a movie/tv show instead as the collections feature is currently useless.

Hmmm, I’m not able to reproduce this. Are you able to reproduce, and provide some logs from the Apple TV, please?

Apologies for the delay in replying.

Happy to oblige. The error still occurs. Specifically, I go to any collection, it takes 20-30 secs to load. I click on one movie and view card, I go back to that collection and immediately select another movie. It crashes.

Thanks for the logs, we’re tracking this internally now

Same here. Collections slow to load everywhere. Need more logs?

Not at the moment, I think we’ve got all that we need for now

Just wanted to add to a small detail to this bug report, because I’m sure it’s part of the same bug:
Every time I’m in a collection, after I’ve waited forever for it to populate, and I scroll down and click a movie to view the details, and then return to the collection, the surrounding posters appear instantly, but the collection starts scrolling vertically on it’s own for some seconds, to the next movie up, and the next one up, and the… until it stops.
I’m guessing there may be some missing covers somewhere, and that it scrolls up one “tick” every time a missing cover loads. Even if I scroll back down again, it’ll keep doing it. Most annoying.
