I have several Collections and cannot get them to sort by Release Date. All my collections are sorting alphabetically (by Sort Title). I’ve tried going to Edit, Advanced, and setting the Collection Order to “Release Date” but nothing changes, the movies are still listed in alphabetical order by sort title. Any ideas about what I am doing wrong or need to change to get my collections sorted by Release Date?

I realize this is probably the dumbest question ever…BUT…you did click “save changes” after you changed it to release date right?
After I change mine and save changes the posters rearrange immediately without doing a refresh or anything, so idk what else could be wrong
That’s a fair question to ask. In this case I have been saving the changes for Release Date… . and like results you get after saving, I expected the posters to rearrange. But even after saving they stay in alphabetical order
Is this about a smart collection (created from an advanced filter) or a “regular” collection (created automatically or manually by assigning items to it)?
Keep in mind smart collections get their order from the actual advanced filter. From what I remember there’s been a comment that the order option in a smart collection’s advanced tab will be removed as it has no effect. If you want to re-arrange a smart collection, click ⋮ > Edit Filters, change the sort order and then click Update collection.
If this is happening with your “regular collections” – what version of Plex Media Server do you have installed on your system and what version of Plex Web are you using when editing the collection?
