@JonSchumacher04 these won’t work in Firefox.
Plex Web doesn’t support HEVC in Firefox, so transcoding would be required. However, Plex doesn’t support transcoding of DV P5 media.
So that message might be a bit cryptic, but it is accurate.
What were you trying to watch? The last thing I see in your log is an episode of Top Gear and it appears to be working.
I searched for Color space is not supported in @JonSchumacher04’s logs, and saw a few instances that appeared be attempts to play a movie using Firefox.
Ah thanks. I see it now. Looks like that video is 4k hevc 10-bit playing on FireFox. I can’t tell of that is DV5, but if it is, then your analysis is correct. That file will not play on FireFox so it needs to be transcoded, but we don’t/can’t transcode DV5.
Having the same Issue with DV since i’ve Updated my Plex server.
Ive been waiting for a fix but its been months… since march.

I have a TV show i was watching EP 1-4 and now i can watch 5-7 till u fix it.
not with out downgrading to none DV format.
I Really Don’t want to come out all entitled or anything but why am I paying for this app if you guys ignoring Common issues?

Based on your previous comment of DV P5 not being supported for transcoding I’ll likely be using media that has DV with a HDR fallback, I think I have figured out a solution, just wish there was an easier way to determine which media files are running DV P5 currently
I am having this DV issue also, my LG tv is running WebOS 3.4 and the latest app it will let me install is 5.1.2, theres no further updates. How do i get to the latest version ?

There are two parts to the Plex LG app, a loader version, that is installed on the TV, and the full client that is downloaded when you launch the app.
The loader, which is 5.1.2, is not the full app. It exists only to download the full app when launched.
To see which version is downloaded, launch the app, then go to Settings → About → Client Version.
You can also check Authorized Devices.

Thanks, I checked and it does say I have that latest version in the client. Guess I just have to wait and hope the DV issue gets fixed.
It should be working. Enable the setting to send logs to your server, reproduce the error on your TV, grab your server logs and send them to me.
I know it was working before so im not sure what authorized devices have to do with it.
Also getting the file on a USB and connecting it to the TV works fine. which is sadly what i have to do now., making me using the build in file player instead of the Plex ive played for so i wont have to do it. at least for everything with DV. which seem to be a lot.

no update available on the LG store. so its the latest for My LG C8.
When you sign in on a client it is registered to your list of authorized devices.
You wanted to know if you had the current version.
I provided two ways to check.
I reproduced this issue and collected the logs. I have an LG W7 and with the current 5.43.2 version of the Plex client app for LG, I am no longer able to play DV files, while they played fine with an older version of the client app. I suspect it broke somewhere around the time the app showed the newer Plex logo upon startup.
The log entries show that the LG Plex app now believes it can’t play DV Profile 5, while of course this TV (and older versions of the client) could play that just fine.

I hope this can be fixed in an update for the Plex LG client.
Getting this today before and after the latest PMS update.
Running on Windows, Plex app on LG TV as well as Plex app on Xbox Series X.
This is especially annoying/concerning considering I’ve been replacing my HDR movies with DV and now I can’t play any of them.
Even more concerning is how long you’ve known about this and not fixed it by simply reverting whatever you did to break it.
Edit:. Wow, I thought it had been a month, I didn’t realize it’s been 4 months (I don’t run updates right away for these reasons).
Will you be providing Plex Pass purchasers refunds since you’ve now broken the functionality of the program and have clearly chosen not to fix it?

Tried to watch some content again last night and forgot that it was DV yup still can play any of that content which is crazy I have to pull my content locally to my device to watch it like I used to before having PMS. I get there not being an instant fix but seriously this has been going on for a long time now and not even a status update?
Does anyone know of any other software to replace plex as at this point its not doing what I need anymore and id replace it in a heartbeat if something else does the job.

They got our money for Plex Pass, now they don’t care to fix anything because it’s not like we can cancel our monthly subscription if they don’t.
Plex has proven they don’t care about fixing the issue. It’s been 4 months since it started and rather than roll back whatever changes they made that broke it in the first place, they just come in here, lie and claim they fixed it, then move on and pretend the issue is gone, because they said so.
All we can do is post everywhere media playback/servers are discussed, telling as many people we can about #BrokenPlex and the fact they just don’t care about fixing the issues. Eventually they’ll have to fix it, or fade out of existence in favor of competitors that actually care about their product. I wonder which they’ll choose.
Happy To Say My LG Oled now run DV Videos as it did before.
Sadly the update to fix it caused a different big issue.
When u run the video and want to open the in video menu where u can show on screen info select audio etc doesnt do anything anymore.
Clicking the 3 dots does nothing. so we got a major issue fixed but got a new major bug as we can change settings for video or watch the playback info.
