After posting several topics about issues I am having of deleted movies from the library and lately PMS adding a duplicate movie entray with no attached file as I looked back at the history of when all these problems atarted I now realized that I changed the MacOS to Catalina.
So is any other PMS MacOS Catalina users having an issue I can seem to fine an answer for the library issues I am having. Again look at my last couple of topic posted here in the Plex Media Service Forum.
This issue for me is really getting to be major. Iadded a movie within the last couple of days and when I tried to watch it it was no longer listed in the PMS library for movies. However the movie file was in the movie file folder which PMS library is supposed to be montoring and adding new and syncing with the movie file folder. I have seen this and the creation of files that dont exist and probably other issues that I am missing
So since I havent had an issues for 9 years before the the version start 3 ago including the current and the MacOS changed at the time. I would say that there is a compatability issue with Catalina.
Any MacOS catalina users have problems and how they solved it.
Hello again
I have Catalina and a server installed on my Mac – the issues you describe have never happened to me. So I don’t think it’s a general Catalina compatibility issue.
Do you get the same issues if you disable automatic library updates and only manually update your library after you added your movie to iTunes? (I don’t want you to do it manually forever… just trying to rule out it’s linked to how media is added to your Drobo/iTunes.
Disabled the auto update feature and it seems to be working so far.
this is really strange When I upgraded to Catalina I reformatted the hard drive then added my software back new one at a time to get a fresh install of everything. Not sure why this glitch would occur but I guest I was the licky one.
thanks for the help. I am wondering if I completely delete PMS and reinstall and setup everything again would fix this issue. I am willing to give this a try. Any thoughts on this?
Not sure what you expect from doing that. Issue doesn’t seem to be caused by Plex itself but by how the files themselves are processed. A re-install of Plex won’t change that.
