Hi everyone. I have about 800 movies that have been running on PLEX fine. I rearranged my libraries, renamed a couple and now PLEX can’t find any of them.
Can I completely remove PLEX from my NAS server (Synology 415+) and reinstall it? The idea would be to force PLEX to rediscover all the libraries, movies, etc. Since the only thing I play movies back on is an Amazon Fire TV app, will this work?
I don’t think I need to keep the meta data and can let Plex go find it again. Is there anything wrong with that?
Thanks Pat
Hi trumpy81. Your suggestion and link to the Q’s helped and everything is working now.
One remaining issue is that my directory structure, as designed by PLEX, does not show up with sorted movies… I still have to figure out why PLEX insists on sorting ALL my movies from all my directories in one, flat movie directory instead of showing them in subdirectories like I have them sorted in…
Thanks for your help!
Pat
You could put yourself through the pain and suffering of viewing ‘by folder’.
You could also just break your big library up into smaller libraries set up the way your folders are set up. I have 26 - and growing. It’s easy when new HDDs come to town. Entire libraries pick up stakes and head to a new neighborhood.
Personally I can’t imagine in my wildest dreams ever being able to navigate 5 thousand movies in dueling horizontal rows - Plex’s ‘Revolutionary, Cutting Edge’ Layout for all their Plex Apps. I start to hurl around 150.
