Completely lost on 920+

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715-8cf78dab3
Player Version#: ?

Can’t even get my 920+ nas to show up as an option to select anymore. I was able to see it before, but never connect. Now I don’t even see it. I uninstalled Plex from my nas, and reinstall. Log out and log back in. Have Plex server running on my computer. I’m lost. I get the “no soup for you” error message. Help!

Please confirm ?

  1. PMS is running on the DS920+ ?
  2. You do or do not have another PMS running on your computer ?
  3. At some point you signed the server itself out of your account
    -or-
  4. Did you upgrade to PMS 1.26.0 from something older like PMS 1.25.6 ?

If this is true, and you’re running DSM 7, the DSM 7 package provides a means by which you can claim it again.

Before we can do that, it’s easy to get the Plex logs manually so we can see what’s happening.

Stop Plex

Using FileStation -

(DSM 7) PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
(DSM 6) Plex/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server

Right-click “Logs” → “Compress to Logs.zip”

Download the file and attach here

  1. Yes
  2. Nothing else
  3. I did, now I can’t even see the server.
  4. No upgrade. The newest online version I have is 1.21.0-3744

Using File Station, i don’t see a PlexMediaServer directory. But I know I installed the app. Is there something else to do after installing the beta package?

I clicked “join beta”… and since it wasn’t working, I uninstalled the app completely.

@jaishin43

Thanks for explaining that.

Now I know what’s happening.

1.21.0.3744 isn’t compatible with any version of PMS as of PMS 1.24.2.4973.

1.24.2.4973 is when DSM 7.0 was finalized – which allowed me to finalize PMS on DSM 7. I had to make a lot of changes.

Every version of PMS is forward compatible but, because of the DSM changes, not backward compatible until you get to 1.24.2.4973 and above (DSM 7.0 formal release version).

I recommend:

  1. Don’t use 1.21.0 – UNINSTALL if still installed (don’t think it is)
  2. From now on (until Synology does update their Package Center), download from Plex.tv/downloads.
  3. That will get you back to what you had running.

Please do that and let me know your results.

IF you don’t have any luck getting back into it, Reinstall the same package again using the “Plex Claim Token” method. (click ‘Get Plex Claim Token’, copy the token provided from the browser back into the installer). It will reconnect your server to your account. Last step: Open it directly using the LAN IP. Don’t use app.plex.tv or QuickConnect link. That triggers the security lockout until you’ve verified login one time directly.

Which Synology (DSM7) version should I download from Plex? I see 5 different versions.

Intel 32 bit
Intel 64 bit
ARMv8
ARMv7 (2 different versions)

You have Intel Celeron J4125

(Control Panel - Info Center will show you)

You want Intel 64 bit

Should I do “normal installation” or Plex Claim Token?

Try Normal Installation first. See if it will pick up where you left off.

If it fails, then uninstall + KEEP and use Claim Token

I ended up doing normal installation. When I click the Plex icon on my nas, it opens a new window to Plex. I get a “not authorized” error. I definitely gave read/write permission to PlexMediaServer.

OK… as I said above,

Now uninstall w/ Keep
Then install w/ Plex Claim Tken

I uninstalled w/ Keep
Installed w/ Plex Claim
I used the link using the LAN IP

Still get the “Not authorized” error

Stop Plex
Open File Station
Navigate PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
right-click Logs → Compress to Logs.zip

Download the logs zip file and attach here

Here’s the attachment. Thank you so much.
Logs.zip (123.8 KB)

ALso, the direct LAN IP is what’s written when I go to the Plex app on the nas? The bit that is written after “URL:”?

I am looking through your logs:

  1. You used the QuickConnect think - You can’t do this from Package Center.

Apr 25, 2022 23:50:06.656 [0x7fed91c6cb38] DEBUG - Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP ‘192-168-0-155.jaishin.direct.quickconnect.to’ in header Host; treating as non-local

  1. Your NAS IP is 192.168.0.155

  2. Open Plex as: http://192.168.0.155:32400/web

Once you get into the server and it’s happy with you as the owner, you’ll again be able to use these different links.

:frowning:

This site can’t be reached. 192 blah blah refused to connect

Sorry… Start the server
Wait for the CPU to calm down as it starts

Holy moly. I think it’s working…

It will make you want to sign in again (possibly)…

Once it’s all happy again, then you’ll be able to do the links and quickconnect

Still waiting… spinning… spinning
