Came home tonight and my Plex Server on my Synology DS220+ no longer showed up in my Plex apps. Oddly enough, if I signed in with my one of my managed accounts (for my children) I could see the Synology Server and play items off of it. My server still showed up in my Authorized Devices list.
In trying to fix things from advice here in the forums, I ended up deleting the Synology in the authorized devices list. I also upgraded the Plex Server software on my Synology which was originally installed just a a couple months back.
Now there’s nothing. I go to Plex Server on my Synology and click to open it. It opens my Plex page and it shows that I’m signed into my account, but the Synology doesn’t appear anywhere at all.
Some help would be appreciated as it was working fine yesterday and as far as I know nothing changed overnight.
IF you can stop the server in package center then make a ZIP manually of the “Logs” directory from inside PMS and attach it here, we might see what’s not happening.
Okay. I think this is the information you were asking to see. I don’t want to mention how long it took me to realize that PMS version meant Plex Media Server. So now I feel frustrated and a little stupid. Anyway, appreciate any help you can offer.
DSM version - 7.1.1-42962 Update 2
PMS version - 1.30.0.6442-7000
I have seen cases where the server fails to sign-in to your account.
On Synology, it is easy to reclaim your server. The tool to reclaim is built in.
Uninstall the package , use the KEEP (first) radio button
Reinstall the same SPK file again - HOWEVER -
– Select the “New or Lost” servers (Plex Claim Token method)
– Click ‘Get Plex Claim Token’ hyperlink
– COPY the token from the browser tab which opens (claim-xxxxxxx)
– PASTE it into the small box on the form
– Click NEXT NEXT DONE
– Allow it to install.
It will need an extra 20-30 seconds to complete the install, get new credentials from Plex.tv and claim the server.
When the server starts, it will never know it was lost.
