COMPLETELY Remove recommended tab

Server Version#: 1.81.0.4012-a9d3f098
Player Version#: all
Is there a way to REMOVE the “Recommended” tab?!? Every 2 weeks or so the app on my Samsung TV conveniently FORGETS my tab settings (INCLUDING the ‘remember tab’ tickbox), and all my libraries revert to “Recommended” tab, so I have to spend time setting all of them back.
I DO NOT WANT recommendations at all. PERIOD. I do not understand why this is the DEFAULT view for a LIBRARY. I set up a plex server so my media would be available on all my devices all the time. When I launch the app, I want to see MY LIBRARIES, not what the app thinks I need to watch. I already get “Continue watching” prompts on the home page, when I view a library I expect to see the LIBRARY, not MORE recommendations, and I am TIRED of having to fight this stupid thing every 2 weeks just to get back to how I already had it set up.

No, there is not.

Time to find an alternative or roll my own. I am done fighting with this software, and the fact that they simply won’t make removing recommendations an option suggests that they made a money deal somewhere along the line, and that supersedes any money that plexpass users have paid to “support” them. Get ready for more “features” that nobody asked for, and removing of functionality that you find useful. This software has hit the “Ensh*ttification” phase.

Huh. My library recommended tabs show only media from my libraries. It’s organized by default in a way that I don’t particularly care for, but I use smart collections to create and pin what I want to see to both my library recommended pages and my home screen. It’s actually very flexible and provides a more tailored solution than just heading to the library and browsing by name.

If you want to turn off all Plex-provided sources, try setting everything here to “Disabled.”

This is fascinating, please explain. I don’t know a lot about business.

Yes, I know it only shows stuff from my server, the problem is that I do not want to see recommendations AT ALL. I want to see my actual library, the reason I set up the server in the first place. I go through the steps, make sure it is set to remember tab settings, then manually set each library to the Library tab, and 2 weeks later I have to go through the entire process all over again, and I am just SICK of it. I already have the recommendations I want on my HOME SCREEN, I do not need to see them when I go to a specific library, what I need to see is the ACTUAL LIBRARY.

Sorry, this led me to believe that you thought Plex was somehow manipulating the recommended tab to show their ad supported content. Oops.

I still think you can do better than browsing your library in alphabetical order by using the recommended tab to your advantage, but I now understand you’re not interested in (potentially) better solutions.

Per the comment by @BigWheel in the feature suggestion linked above, the recommended tab is not going away.

It’s not at all normal that your preferences regarding “remember selected tab” should would be reset without fairly specific steps being taken… That generally only happens when client preferences are reset for some reason. That could include signing out or restoring defaults. It won’t generally happen just because you update versions.

It may be helpful for you to provide some additional details regarding the steps which induce this behavior.

Also, that isn’t a server version, and “all” does nothing to help identify a client version. The server version can be found by accessing the web client at https://app.plex.tv and navigating to Settings → [Server Name] → General. Though, honestly, that has nothing to do with this.
