Confused about mounting folders from a 2nd NAS

I am confused about something. I have a DS916+, which has all my media. Now I bought a DS1019+, and want to use Plex from this one, and have it access the media on the DS916+. (I need the media to stay on the DS916+, for other reasons).

I copied the Plex application from the DS916+ to the DS1019+ (so I have all the metadata). But what I need is to change the library folder locations to point to the DS916+. Right now, obviously, they all point to non-existent local folders.

I know a bit about Linux, but not a lot. Do I need to make separate entries in /etc/fstab for each individual shared folder of the DS916+ I want to access? Or can I make a single entry for the root of the shared folder of the DS916+ (i.e., /DS916), mount that, , and so later in Plex I can just say “/DS916/Movies”, “/DS916/TV Shows”, etc?

(And how do I tell the DS916+ to share out all of it’s “/volume1”, so I can mount it on the DS1019+?)

Thanks. Sorry if that’s a stupid question.

You can mount them right in the GUI of your new NAS. I don’t have access from here, but you basically mount the external shares in a local folder, then browse to them in plex. It works well, I did it a while back.

This looks right
