Confusion with mosiac mode for photos, is this only a subscriber function issue? (does it affect free accounts now as well?)

Wondering if there is a way for subscribers to opt out of mosaic mode and return to the original photo lay out i had where photos were automatically sorted in each album by hard labeled title and folder title with an option for a cover? Also wondering if there is no way to opt out of mosaic mode as a subscriber is it possible if i cancel my sub that i can return to the original basic photo mode that way? or is the mosaic mode a new format that there is no way around? I ask because my photos are already individually labeled in order by number and I’m not sure i want to try to sort through the new mosaic grid just to then go through and have to click re-label each one with in the photo album all over again to recreate the album. I am just unclear as to whether this is a permanent change due to updates or is this change is due to my opening a subscription with plex? really need to find a way to return to my old classic photo u.i. the mosaic is to confusing, too spread out and to much added unnecessary re-organization for the amount of photos and albums i have. If anyone knows the answer to these questions i would love to find a solution that returns me to my classic old school free account photo lay out with out having to give up my sub if that possible at all. (Sorry if i have overlooked some simple step but i have been trying to figure this out for over a month now and it has perplexed me and my plex subscriber buddies trying to trouble shoot this together)

Sorry, what do you mean by ‘mosaic mode’ ?
Could you provide a screen shot? (full screen please, not just a portion of it)

Sorry I have temporarily removed photo albums due to the issue so i have nothing to screen shot at the moment but i what i refer too is how they are now spread out in a giant grid with timeline. there was a massive change to my photo lay out a while back after an update that made it a huge mess for me and im just unclear if the newer photo lay out updates affect only subscribers or if it also affects the version that free users have? are free user and subscriber user photo lay outs the same?

The ‘timeline’ view can be easily changed back to the traditional ‘Photos’ view mode

ah ok I dont know how i missed that ill try again… with so many photos my timeline mode was just freezing up my whole server so setting it to album mode will probably solve that ty so much.

seems that photos show up in timeline but when i switch to album mode is says nothing to see here im guessing that instead of making albums automatically out of individual folders as they are uploaded you now have to manually go into the time line and click, sort, label each photo individually into an album (playlist?) and re-title each photo within the ui sending it to a play-list mode type list? i think my confusion is because previously my photos were sorted into albums by simply being in separate folders and the order was determined by the labels of uploaded photos being numbered in proper sequence already… there wasn’t a need to further go into the ui and relabel everything all over again to get it to sort. I gathered this by looking into the function choice you posted… i think i will try make a seperate account free version on an alternative machine to see if the free user accounts are the same in ui and layout for photos. Ty for trying to help me and cheers!

“Albums” were previously “Playlists,” and they appeared on the Playlists page. They are made either by you manually adding images to an album, or by creating a Smart Playlist using filters (just like you would do with movies or music).

Plex, for some as-yet-unrevealed reason, decided to remove Photo Playlists from the Playlists page, and rename them to Albums. I’ve been trying to get them to undo this, but so far it falls on deaf ears. I can’t even get an explanation as to why they did it.

You must not switch to ‘album’ mode. Pick the topmost option ‘Photos’.
