Is there an official list of connected TV / Set-top boxes that have Plex pre-installed or on which it is fairly easy to install Plex Media Center?
Is it limited to Google TV / LG connected devices / Samsung / Roku?
How about other brands like Panasonic / Toshiba / Sharp etc?

Plex don't really write clients for any TV.
The 2 guys who write the Samsung client keep a list on their project website here -> http://plexforsamsung.pbworks.com/w/page/40757181/Home
I'm not aware of LG keeping a list anywhere for their client but there might be something in the LG forum.
Re other clients if there is a forum for it, there is a client written for it - clients in the 3rd party forum, are obviously written by 3rd parties.
So this is not officially supported by Plex, eg. if I have a problem with the Plex client on one of the TVs, Plex will only provide best-effort support?
Yes, but also the Samsung client authors and the LG guys hang out in their respective forums.
