Thanks... and.....

Firstly I would like to thank the Plex team for a truly outstanding product. I’ve been using Plex since before their was a Plex (XBMC to XBMC Mac fork to Plex) and as the project progressed I was amazed at how it simplified my experience to the point that I replaced multiple Mac Mini’s with a Synology Nas and multiple native apps on what I refer to friends as “anything with a screen”. Between the cost savings of not having cable or satellite TV for the last decade and the freedom of when I travel for work, being able to connect my phone or laptop to a hotel TV and watch “my” TV , this is truly a product I could not live without.

Not that I’ve gotten my sycophant statement out of the way I do have one question

Does Plex actively support Samsung TV’s? I see lot’s of improvements/features being spread between Android devices, IOS devices, Roku, etc. but my beloved Samsung smart TV’s seem to get no love. It’s not a huge hassle for me as if I want full support I’ll log into the Plex app on a roku, amazon fire tv or mirror from my phone, but as a minimalist, I would like to remove as many connected devices as possible. Just curious, not complaining. I love what you’ve done/doing.

thanks

So the older Samsung TVs i.e. 2014 and older have a Plex App in the Hub but this is not an official Plex App it is a third party app developed by a fellow community member who does still develop for this and provides updates as much as Samsung allows him to publish.

For newer Samsung TVs which are Tizen based there is an official Samsung App which is developed by Plex and works great.

I have lots of different clients and I would say Samsung does get the least love (updates) but it is my understanding it is still an active and developed system which will eventually get updated…

It was about 6 months or a year since the latest update and I am hoping an update will come soon with LiveTV at least.
