Connecting Samsung TV to Windows 10

Server Version#: Version 4.34.3
Player Version#: Client Version 5.1.2

I have had to change my internet supplier as I cannot work with < .75Mbps. So I get a new router.

I need to connect my Samsung Smart TV UE43RU7475U to Windows 10. The old router works fine, but won’t be here for long. But the new router doesn’t connect.

I got a message from the new supplier to say that I need to configure the new router, and sends me a link to a TP-link TL-WR1043ND, which is not the router that was supplied, but tells me that I need to change media server settings. I check the current router, and it doesn’t have DNLA or Media Server settings. So they tell me to bring the router back, and I can exchange it for an older one.

I now have a TP-Link 300M Wireless N Router Model No. TL-WR841N/TL-WR841ND - but that doesn’t have DNLA or Media Settings either.

I think that as an alternative, I can Windows share the folders containing the videos, photos and music, and then I don’t need DNLA (is that correct?) - that is what I have done.

At the moment, the television itself can see the folders on the computer.

But when I try to enter Plex on the television, I see the message
Choose your preferred server - it looks lke you have access to more than one media server.

I see a revolving circle - but there is no obvious way to choose a server. There is only the CONTINUE button, which allows me to select what goes on the menu.

As I have used 4 routers on this computer, I now have 4 networks.
Network 2 works with the old router.
Network 3 does not work, although the computer sees the TV. Network 3 uses the router that I will be keeping.

I have never had any problems before changing internet supplier / router

So perhaps the TV sees different servers on different networks - but I don’t know how to “choose the preferred server”
