Connection handover between LAN and mobile network

Would it be possible to make the connection between the mobile device and server (android/iphone) a persistent one when roaming from network to network? An example is when switching from LAN network to Mobile network. Since this is a completely different network, it requires force close of the mobile application to force the app to make a new server connection.

I know that it’s difficult but if YouTube and Netflix can do it, I’m sure Plex has smart engineers that can do it too.

Anecdotal evidence. i.e. That’s what I had to do for the last 4 years each time I moved between home and not home.

I’d call that a bug, not a missing feature.
