Constant buffering on Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: 1.194.2935
Player Version#: 8.2.1.18636

I’m now at my wit’s end with Plex! I have the 2017 Shield and I’ve never got Plex to work properly for me. I just constantly get buffering issues, mostly on movies that I’m streaming from a friend’s server. All my other friends who stream from this server, report no issues, and a few of them have the Shield as well

I have a 500mb download account with my ISP and a Shield that’s connected via Ethernet. Whenever I play a movie, after 1 minute it will stop to say my connection is not fast enough. I’ve changed the new video player to old, Adjust automatically to on and off, Remote streaming to maximum.
I’ve even factory reset the Shield, factory reset my router, reinstalled Plex, cleared cache, shut down the router, swapped out ethernet cables and ports, tried it on wifi…you name it, I’ve tried it! Yet I cannot get rid of the buffering issues. I normally have to pause the movie to wait for enough to be downloaded, yet, it will buffer again after about 5 mins.

Any other tips on what I can do to fix this problem?

Any ideas?

I am actually having a similar issue on a brand new Shield Pro. All other devices stream 1080p and up just fine, but the Shield Pro won’t play more than a few seconds without pausing. As far as I know my setup is Direct Playing as everything is set to Maximum. The Shield is hardwired and I have a 200mb download. Seems like it’s related to the Android plex app that is running. Any update or fix would be great. I can provide logs if needed from the Shield.
