I’ve noticed this for the last two or three versions of the PS4 client. I can start the client and start a new movie/show without trouble, but if I let it sit for a while, or back out of the show I’m watching and start moving around different menus, it almost always crashes. I’ve even done a full reformat of my PS4 (for other reasons) but the Plex client acts the same.
If it matters, the PMS version is updated with every new release and runs on my home server, which runs CentOS 7.
Has anyone else noticed these crashes? I can’t believe I’m the only one, but I don’t see any other threads mentioning it.
I’m going to second this. It happens a lot when it comes back from suspend mode and yes after leaving it idle for a while.
bump. Anyone? Problem is still there.
Had some troubles with Plex crashing on the PS4…turned off the “secure connection” (https) and now it works like a wonder!
Didn’t crash since and the awfull lag I had on the PS4 completely disappeared.
Try it out!
I only use Plex in my home network so I don’t know if a secure connection is important at all.
That is super interesting information. If other folks have the same success we’ll put a setting in the PS4 app’s menu to disable HTTPS so that your other apps (mobile, etc) can continue using HTTPS.
How do you turn off secure connection?
I have the same problem
Thanks
I turned secure connection to never, yet it still keeps crashing :S
