Constantly buffering on home network, but only some shows?

okay, so two different shows have started buffering constantly, even though my device is connected to the same network as my Plex server. I’ve got three external hard drives running my Plex server, I tried moving this show to a different hard drive to see if maybe the pathway was just a problem, but it didn’t change anything.

it happens most often on my Fire Stick 4K Gen 2, but occasionally on other devices as well, and it isn’t happening with other shows. that I’m pretty sure have similar quality and bitrate (I don’t understand bitrate)

Can you provide details on the files. Are they transcoding?

have it set to play original qualities so they shouldn’t be. i will DM you example files from the two shows

original quality does not mean it won’t transcode. When you start playback wait a like 30 seconds and look at the Dashboard Now playing and it should say. or in the playback info during playback on your fireTV.

AFAIk the firestick gen 2 can play h265 which those files are but I have heard it does not play them very well.
