Constantly losing access to server

Server Version#: 1.18.9.2578
Player Version#: 1.6.3.1009

been using plex for around a year now. server is installed on my windows 7 home machine. player is installed on the same machine. throughout my usage of plex (since the beginning) i am CONSTANTLY struggling with losing access to the server. sometimes a simple quit of both the player and the server will get me back. sometimes i have to kill all the tasks running in task manager. sometimes i have to do a full reboot. sometimes updating the server to the newest version seems to help for a bit. at one point after tremendous amounts of difficulty and digging through several forums i had to find some tutorial on how to go into my network settings and reset some kind of ip or dns setting which miraculously worked but now i can’t even remember what it was. i don’t understand. why is this a constant issue? its not like its one time, one thing in my settings that i have to fix. it is almost daily. just now as i am typing this (after about 24 hours of not being able to get to the server, i rebooted my computer… no access… 10 minutes later, its just there, connected, on, working. am i doing something horribly wrong, or is plex really this broken? its disappointing. i bought the lifetime account. its everything i ever wanted in a player/server… minus the not working part. any help, thoughts?

Please gather log files and attach to this thread.

  1. Set your system for DEBUG logs only. Do not enable verbose logs.
  2. Wait for the problem to occur.
  3. Pull logs and attach the entire ZIP file to this thread (just drag it into the compose window).

If your system was already set for debug logs before the last occurrence, go ahead and pull the logs and attach to the thread. They may have gathered the info.

See Reporting issues with Plex Media Server for information on how to gather debug logs.

See Plex Media Server Logs for information on pulling the log files.

ok cool. so i checked my settings and the debug logs were already enabled. i found the logs folder in my plex directory and i see a bunch of different logs… plex tuner service, plex media server, plex update service, etc… i looked at the server log and saw some debug info in there so i’m guessing that’s the log we are after? i have attached the 5 latest Plex Media Server logs. if there is a different log we should be looking at i’ll be happy to upload them. Plex Media Server.1.log (6.3 KB) Plex Media Server.2.log (66.5 KB) Plex Media Server.3.log (41.5 KB) Plex Media Server.4.log (5.7 MB) Plex Media Server.5.log (10.1 MB)

anyone know what to make of these logs? problem persists.

Several messages mention Insufficient memory or lack of storage.

How much space is available on the O: drive, where Plex is installed?

How much RAM is installed and available on the system?

Could you supply a new, full set of logs?

  • Reboot your PC.
  • Let it run until the problem occurs.
  • Pull logs via Settings -> Manage -> Troubleshooting or manually ZIP the entire log directory, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs.
  • Attach ZIP file to this thread.

There may be helpful information in the other log files.

Thanks.
