Plex Server is inaccessible once a day

Server Version#: 4.69.1
Player Version#: f.e. 1.40.1.2826 and others
macOS: 12.2.1

The last few days I had to restart the Plex server once each. Especially in the evening, when I want to play something via Apple TV, the server is not accessible - not locally and not remotely. I have not yet found out the exact time when the server is no longer accessible. Today it worked before noon, after noon no connection. The Plex server is not displayed as “not responding”. I just have to shut it down and restart it.

Has anyone had the same problem or possibly solved it already?

Same issue here. So I paid for lifetime, hosting it by myself and cannot access my data. This is not acceptable.

@Plex Team: Please fix it and reconsider the mechanism on how to access a self hosted plex service.

Not sure if it’s related, but I have noticed nearly every morning for the last several days Plex has eaten a bunch of memory on my server (CentOS 7), to the point of exhausting available memory and swap space. Restarting Plex seems to solve it, so perhaps there’s a memory leak in the current version?

Server version: 1.25.6.5577
Server OS: CentOS 7 kernel 5.9.6-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64

Edit:
Digging into my logs, I definitely see the Linux OOM (out-of-memory) killer running, and PMS RunServer is eating up a lot of memory; I have 5 virtual machines and a process running in Docker on this server, and PMS RunServer is eating up more memory than all of them combined…

I don’t think so taborj. Just restarted the server, the problem persists. What makes me a bit alarmed is even if you’re hosting your plex at home as I do, you are dependent on the remote login to plex. That means if plex shut down their services in the future or if there is some problem with the login like it is now even your lifetime contribution won’t help you to get access to your own server and data through plex.

Edit:
Running Plex as a LXC container on Proxmox.

2nd edit:
Login problem seems to be solved now. I can login to my plex again.

Same here. macOS 10.15.7
Plex Server 1.25.6.5577 (the latest release)

It seems to become unresponsive about 8:00am. I can quit plex from the menu bar, but cannot restart it as I get a message saying it’s not running and won’t start.

Checked Activity Monitor and Plex is not running. But it won’t start.

Restarting the Mac fixes the problem. I’ve downgraded the server to the previous version 1.25.5.5492. I hope that works ok. I will find out tomorrow.
