Constructive feedback on New Roku Interface (Besides rolling it back)

We already know the feelings about the new plex interface, but going on the assumption that the new interface isn’t going away, I wanted to start a thread to provide constructive feedback on improving the new Roku app.

Positive:
To start the ball rolling, and on a positive note, the newest Preview app is much better for browsing libraries with it’s vertical drop-down (vs the horizonal bar).

Needs Improvement:
As for things that need improvement, It appears that there is no longer a way to reset profile customization in the new app. I would appreciate this being added as a feature. Also, performance in marking a show as watched / unwatched is very laggy. In the previous interface, response was immediate. This causes the wrong show to be marked when working faster than the app can keep up. It’s kind of frustrating.

They could improve it by switching to a side menu for libraries.

And remembering tabs for each library.

Agree on your “Needs improvement”, marking as watched or unwatched is extremely laggy.
Also has far more failures to play and unnecessary transcodes than previous versions.
The title cards (series/film logos, top left) are inconsistent in sizing and are unchangeable. Rather have the option for plain text tbh, they’re that bad.
Frequent audio/video sync issues now, rarely ever happened before.
Clunky navigation, use of back button has changed.

Sadly, I disagree that the newest version is an improvement in navigation. Use it every day, as do my family and close friends, and it’s still awful.

I won’t argue with you that the new interface is much worse for navigation and less intuitive. They made it pretty clear, however, that they’re not going back to the more intuitive traditional interface with side menus, so I figure we can at least help them make this new one better by providing feedback.

An option to change the size of posters would also be welcome. Instead of focusing on large posters, I would like to see smaller ones while fitting more content on the screen. Having more than half the screen taken up with a pretty image and description is a waste of space while making the app less functional.

Normally a badly cropped pretty picture, and not even a full description, if you want to read it you have to navigate up amd select it to see it in full. Also, the cast info at the bottom of the screen (at 1080p, at least) is cut in half, so you need to scroll down to see names and full images. It’s just so poorly designed.

Grumble, grumbe, moan, moan.
