Content description and actor info dissapear

Hi!

I’m running Win11pro with Plex server installed. All is up todate and all is working fine … more or less.

The content I have in my folder, I can see that from my TV using the plex app, and I can play and all.

But … it’s like, suddenly, outta the blue, the description on the movie files I have, isn’t there anymore.

So I browsed all the movie files I have, and found, that some has description and actors listed, and some don’t. Before all this came to my mind I think all content had these kinda descriptions.

So any idear what went wrong?

Inspect those items which are missing metadata.
See if the context menu on them has an item called “Match” or if it says “Unmatch”.
If it’s “Match”, then click on it and try to restore the connection between the media file and its metadata.

This has suddnenly happened on my shows as well. I’m running from my NAS via Nvidia Shield. The section of the cast is empty, but pulses as if it’s trying to pull in the information. All the other metadata looks fine.

OttoKerner, thanks for your reply. What I did and found out is:

I found the “Match” and “Unmatch” from both the ‘Home’-screen, and from on the contents page as well.

Using Match did’nt help, but i tried both the Search option, the Auto-Match … but the meta-data like the movie description never came. (funny thing is, I found out I manually can edit the meta-data and I wrote ‘just a movie for me and my wife’).

I belive … the reason for this is, ‘well thats just this movie file’ because as I said, when I look at other files meta-data is there. I cheked random files. And I will try to download a new file, just to see. The ones that are working and not, are both in english and other laungages.

I didn’t even see that kinda graphics in my case … it was just all blank.

Are these actual movies or are these other kinds of video files, like YouTube videos or private recordings?

Hmm okay, I haven’ tried renaming and such because it has kinda always been working fine, and some of the content that I have … does still have descriptions and cast on.

So I tried to start all over. deliting server, uninstalling and so on. But still the same issue. I will try renaming a few files - to see if these movies wiull appear correctly.
