Continue Playback on Different Device

I would love a feature to continue playback from my phone to another device using the same account. When I listen on my phone while driving or doing something else and then I get back to my desktop, I want to continue listening but with my computer’s headphones and currently it’s not possible (at least to my knowledge).

You can already do that.
Select the cast button, pick the device to which you want to transfer. You can subsequently listen from that target device and continue controlling playback there (also stop controlling from the original device).

Does this work on all devices? I’ve done it with my iPad but I can’t cast to my desktop which is my main issue. Also when I’ve cast before it hasn’t let me change the queue from the device being cast to. I appreciate your response.

Make sure the Plex app in the target device is configured to advertise itself as player.
See: Settings > Playback > Remote Control (sorry if naming slightly deviates, I’m currently testing this on the TestFlight preview)

Clicking „Disconnect“ will let the controlled player do its own thing.

Edit: this also works the other way around… you can connect to a device and pull the playback to the controller.

Awesome! Definitely answered my question but I’m having issues with the app. PC sees my phone but my phone can’t see my PC. Will keep troubleshooting

Edit: Figured it out! Have to be on the same network to cast

If you don’t have Chromecast devices, disable Settings > Playback > Remote Control > Move playback with selection.

This means you can quickly switch between players for control but if you hold down on a player, it’ll transfer playback.
