Control and Cast to a remote Android Plexamp instance from another Android phone

Hi there, i have an old android samsung phone running plexamp hardwired into an integrated amplifier. I’d like to be able to cast from my current (new) phone to the old android phone. As far as I can tell all I can do is perform playback control but I can’t cast. If I load up the Plexamp player on my new phone and hit the “cast icon” under the list of players I can see my old android phone and it will show what’s playing and offers playback control buttons just below it but I can’t choose it as a cast target?

This means if I want to change the album or playlist I have to go directly to my old phone whereas I’d much rather do that from my new phone. Note that casting from Plexamp to other devices on my network (sonos and wiim) works absolutely fine.

you can absolutely cast to it, make sure it has remote control enabled, and when you have the device selected with the “cast” menu you can initiate playback, connect directly to edit the play queue, etc.

thanks Elan, I managed to get it working, I think it was because remote control wasn’t enabled on the “old phone”. Thanks for responding. I love plexamp - i’ve had it for years and years but really only started using it in the last 12 months or so (sonic analysis was the catalyst). Keep up the great work.
