What is the difference between continue watching and On Deck?

There no longer a difference.

On deck and continue watching used to be 2 separate hubs on the home screen / library recommendations:

  • continue watching was showing started items you didn’t finish
  • on deck used to display e.g. season premieres of shows

Plex has merged the two in spring.

on deck primarily used to show the “next” episode of a tv series, which you are watching.
As soon as the episode is available, either by you adding it as a file or by it getting [automatically] recorded by the DVR feature from your antenna.
