I had it this morning and now that all of my players seem to have updated it is no longer there.
I tried to optimize the database and I even used SQLite to repair the database. Other than getting the below error everything seemed to work fine on that but my On Deck is missing from Plex for Windows, Plex for Roku and the localhost webapp for all of my libraries.
Error: near line 439810: no such collation sequence: icu_root
My On Deck is missing from Plex for Windows and Plex for Roku also, only occurred this morning and now I’m unable to see what episode or series I’m on apart from the limited number shown in the “continue watching” section on the home page.
This absolutely sucks the continue watching list is missing most of my shows. the deck at least had all the shows I was watching so if I didn’t watch for some time at a glance I knew what I had pending. This is a terrible update. It’s nerfed a pretty useful and in place added something that doesn’t really work.
Yes I agree it totally sucks and completly unwanted feature/update! I was thinking that I did something cause I messed with the settings, however that’s not the case. The fix, can you say “ROLL BACK”.
Definitely NOT a fan of removing On Deck feature and merging it into the Continue Watching area. As I see it at the minute, Continue watching only has 6 shows that would have been in my On Deck list. My On Deck list(on PMS, that I now refuse to update) has 33 shows that I watch from time to time. The new Continue Watching area, on my phone, is based on what is the next episode of the most recently watched…however I’m missing the other 27 that would be populated there so that I can choose whatever I want to watch. I’m not big on binge watching tv shows, and this change funnels you into watching only a few shows at a time and finishing what you currently have before, and I’m speculating here, it adds one of the shows that would’ve been next in line for On Deck.
Overall a very constricting change when what drew me to Plex was the ability to tailor my library how I wanted it to look. More Options are better not less!
I use On Deck and Continue Watching for two very discrete things. I’m going through several series and usually watch an entire episode, BUT often watch one or two partial episodes. I’ll then watch several more full episodes before going back and finishing what I started. I need some way to track the episodes that I partially watched.
Well this is the worst update and feature in my 8 years of using plex and totally ruins my user experience, my OD was perfect as it showed all my tv box sets that i watch, in excess of 200, this new POS CW malarky only shows 20, if I was a PP subscriber This would make me go elsewhere but sadly I am a lifetime PP so I guess I will have to live with this POS
This really makes absolutely no sense. On Deck had things I’d paused watching for months (or however long I’d set it for, it was a long time because of my viewing habits), so I could easily pick up where I left off.
Continue Watching should only be shows and movies that were paused during an episode or in the movie.
Merging the two really makes little sense unless it actually contained the On Deck list. As it is now, it’s not a merge, it’s just a removal of a feature, full stop.
Come to think of it, why does it have to be an all or nothing approach to editing the home screen? We either allow PLEX to do it for us or lose all of the curated home screen features. Let me pick from the PLEX provided filters and curations.
Anyway, that’s my grumble, I’m just glad I haven’t updated my plexbian or whatever embedded player I’ve been using. The web interface is getting less useful to me, though.
PS: I just checked and if you use the IP address of your server rather than plex.tv, you get served the web ui included with the server version. I haven’t upgraded in a minute, so my Server is 1.22.0.4145 which seems to be serving 4.51.3, which still has On Deck. When I use app.plex.tv it serves 4.55.0. So… Roll back and get your On Deck back.
On Deck has been merged into Continue Watching, so it should contain your On Deck content too, As for managing what’s on the Home Screen, that’s been moved to be mostly server side, with sidebar items being able to be pinned/unpinned and reordered left on the client. May I suggest having a read through Manage Recommendations | Plex Support?
I think part of the problem is that some people are only seeing a few entries in CW. I only see 5. But my On Deck has >30. So maybe something isn’t right.
I just counted, and there are 6 entries in CW and 40 in On Deck. This is just 2 tabs open: 1 through LAN IP and one through app.plex.tv. I’d assume that app.plex.tv would have 14 of my On Deck entries, though.
The limit on the number of items comes from the server. I suggest updating to 1.22.3 when it is released, so you’ll again be able to control the number of items that appear, rather than the current limit of 20. We did also find an issue where sometimes 6 items were returned improperly, and that is fixed in 1.22.3
