Continue watching / watched status over multiple accounts goes wrong

Hi All,

So i’ve had this problem since day one as i can remember, my current setup is the following:

Synology DS1815+ (DSM 6.1-15047)
Running Plex Pass server Version 1.4.2.3400
Logged in with my own account: (User A)
Shared with User, B,C & D. (all have their own account and added as a friend to with i share my library with.)
All users use their Apple TV 4 to watch video from my server (over the internet not locally), some use their iPhones to stream.

When another user watches a show or movie it shows up in my “Continue watching” section and i’ve noticed that movies get marked as “watched” as well on my account and show up on “On Deck” when other users have seen it.

This is not supposed to happen according to the twitter feedback i got from @Plex but i’ve had this as long as i can remember.
Is this a bug in the Synology server version or something i have to enable/disable to fix?

Thanks!

Just so you know, this has been happening to me lately as well. What I’m realizing is that people are logged in under my account. Apparently they didn’t actively log in to my user account (they don’t know my pin), so I’m really not sure why Plex is defaulting them to my user account once they get past the first login.

I just had this happen with my brother and I reached out to him asking him to log off my account. He swore he didn’t log into my user account (and I believe him and know for a fact he doesn’t have my pin). I was going to start a thread bringing the issue up soon if it continued…

I really don’t like this as it opens up the possibility for unauthorized users to mess with settings, etc.

@GoSpursGO I’ve setup al their accounts, and added them as friends to mine and shared my library with them. Think most of them don’t even know their own username/pass. Quite sure they’re not using my account  Think it’s more a bug?

Does not happen here - 916+, syno 6.1, plex server 1.3. Users accessing mostly localy.

@ropiko Gotcha. All of my users are set up under my account as managed users. I kept seeing different videos in my “On Deck” and “Continue Watching” sections that shouldn’t be there and wasn’t sure how that was happening. Then I happened to check the “Status” section while there were multiple users streaming and I realized that my brother was logged in under my account. As I said this should have been impossible as he doesn’t know my pin and he had never been logged into my account before. Anyways, I agree it sounds like you have a completely different issue here so I don’t want to muddy up your water here. Best of luck to you in finding a solution… wish I could help!

R u using Trackt ?

I had some strange on deck issues.
Stopped using trackt and they went away!!

@spikemixture No i’m not using any extra’s or plugins, thanks for the help appreciated

I just started having this problem. Yes, I installed the Trakt app from the Unsupported App Store.

It is now uninstalled. Thank you!!!

Old thread revive. I was having issues with Trakt where watch history was showing up on my user profile, on deck. Going to uninstall the app to solve this issue. Seems this is a problem as of recent.

go into trakt plugin settings and set Global Filter - Users (comma separated) to your own username and it shouldnt scrobble others watched status
