Continued TV everywhere discussion

Continuing the discussion from When will you add the "TV Everywhere" feature allowing recording ALL virtual TV connections I have access too:

Hi ChuckPa, Channels charges $8 a month or $80 a year. I think that would be a good comparison in terms of the amount of Revenue that can be brought in from the integration.

In terms of the why? I’m currently a cable card customer which is end of life. I like having everything integrated in one service and that’s what Plex is. I hate going between apps and I like the TV integration plex has currently. People could still take advantage of an HD Home Run for the local channels via antenna but this is where we need something for premium channels. To my knowledge, there’s no legal IPTV so this being integrated would be great for people like myself that pay and support live tv content.

With TV everywhere there is no streaming cap and so to answer your other question yes any of the home users would be able to use it. I have a fairly large house with 10 TVs, so im odd:).

“– Allow each new media source to be recorded by Plex DVR ?”

Channels DVR is allowed to DVR the content so I don’t know if that’s something they had to set up or is ultimately allowed since DVR cable content has been allowed for a long time. Also the guide data I think is already provided by the current provider you guys use. Example YouTube TV offers a guide but it’s blocked by Plex from my understanding.
