When will you add the "TV Everywhere" feature allowing recording ALL virtual TV connections I have access too

I am current using another brand of DVR to record all of my PLEX content off the air and via the internet using ‘TV Everywhere’ protocols. I just don’t understand why a product sold as a “DVR” would not record every single source provided to it… The new ‘TV Everywhere’ protocol allows for recording sources just like the 200 new TV channels added to PLEX just recently… When will the PLEX app live up to the promise of begin my one and only DVR??? Are there any plans to add features like ‘TV Everywhere’ to allow recording of every source available to PLEX???

u have no idea how much money its involved …not to mention rights and copyrights…
u wont have much luck preaching on here my friend…good luck

Well, I currently have these recording abilities on ‘Channels DVR’ provided by HDHomerun TV Tuners company… Since they have no problem provided it with a free piece of software I see no reason why since I’m paying for support why PLEX can’t consider adding it too… I currently bypass the DVR on PLEX and use the Channels DVR to record all of my PLEX content.

Plex have already commented on those kind of “please integrate provider X” requests/suggestions.

Weather I add it to a old post or create a new one… The question is still valid and the PLEX community is wanting an answer… I have owned your product since you 1st place it on the market many years ago… I have been a faithful customer and have promoted your product at every turn… But gentlemen, I bought DVR software to record!!! I love the additional sources you choose to add to PLEX, but if you add them without the ability for PLEX to record and keep, then don’t bother with the effort. If I wanted a ‘non-Keep it my-self DVR’ then I would of kept my cable box.

I have one question.

How much are you willing to pay each month (there will be no lifetime) for a premium service which integrates ALL available sources ? It’s definitely going to cost a lot more than a PlexPass and a lot more like a monthly cable provider

I strongly disagree… You are confusing paying for internet services with recording services I have already paid for… For example you added 200 channels to Plex which is part of my fee for your service. A lot of those 200 channels are also provided by Sling and Comcast and are record-able via TV Everywhere and the Channels DVR. So why can’t Plex record these same channels???

It would seem to me that I have the right to record anything I pay for and I would like to use Plex as my DVR for the recording rather than a 3rd party application!!!

I paid for Sling and Comcast services… But with ‘TV Everywhere’ protocols I can enter my Sling & Comcast passwords to have record-able access to these streams via Channels DVR provided for free by HDHomeRun Tuner guys. When will Plex embrace TV Everywhere recording abilities?

@DuaneKiser

Thank you for helping me understand more.

If I am now understanding, for which I ask you to correct me –

  1. “TV Everywhere” protocol allows you to use your credentials with your provider, through Plex, to get to all content from that provider which you for which you have subscribed.

  2. The request is to have Plex
    – Store your credentials for each service (e.g Cable ISP, Channels DVR, Sling, etc)
    – Add each service to your Plex ecosystem as a media provider to your server.

  3. (this is unclear)
    – Allow each new media source to be recorded by Plex DVR ?
    – Share each new media source to family and friends through your server ?
    – Something else ?
