Something I have noticed with the new app is that it will stop playing after a few episodes, we like to put a show on shuffle over night however I got woken up 3 times last night by the silence as it would stop playing.
That’s expected, after 2 hours of no interaction it won’t auto-advance to the next item. The previous app should have behaved the same way (and if it didn’t that was a bug).
Oh that kind of sux, can this be disabled or added as an option to disabled?
Also if thats how the app should have worked before then that means its a 7 year old bug as this is how all apps have operated for us since we started using plex!
Gonna use this thread to report a bug as well instead of starting a new thread since it seems it’s getting some traction. Do we not have an official bug thread?
Anyways… if I shuffle and repeat a TV show season it stops by itself after a couple hours. I use that feature during the night on the old app no problem.
We don’t have plans for a option though there are cases where post-play won’t be shown and it can continuously play.
Information is in the support article:
When Plex “stops playing” does the display just go dark? If so, this might be the same issue as in this thread: Plex Android does not advance to next episode, just reloads same episode and does not play
Slightly different issue, but related to the ‘Continues’
I’ve had it happen on a few instances now where the countdown to the next episode showed up, and I pressed the LG Remotes ‘back’ button to cancel out. Instead, the entire interface froze where no buttons were accepted, yet the countdown still was counting down to 0. Once it hit 0, it sat there and did nothing and no buttons would work - to exit out of Plex. I had to ultimately switch to a different source, then ‘kill’ the Plex app and have it launch from scratch to get it working again.
Has anyone else experienced this?
