I’ve been needing to swap back and forth between old and new player quite frequently to get my content to play. It’s all fairly new content and mostly seems to happen with 4K HDR videos. Some series or movies will attempt to start, flag the tv with HDR, then it just sits on a black screen with the loading wheel. If a switch to old player and try again it will work. But then I’ll try a different video later and the same thing. But then I have to switch back to new player for the same result. It’s a bit of a process constantly needing to toggle this setting. It’s not exactly readily accessible. How is it that this ‘new’ player is struggling on basic hevc HDR content? If plex can’t just implement a single player that works reliably with all modern formats and flavors, can it at least implement the ability to automatically switch to the compatible player when needed? Or at bare minimum, make that player switcher readily accessible from the video playback settings so we don’t need to dig through the settings 5x a day?
