So, I managed to find a workaround in Version 1.20.3.3437
The issue is related to the files being located on a network share.
I copied the same movie to the local storage of the server and added this folder to a new library in Plex.
When selecting the movie from that library no more errors and streaming is working with the external srt file. @Maico053 can you try this as well?
@Maico053 how is your drive / library mounted in plex? Via UNC path or via a network share which is mounted in Windows?
I just noticed that if I create a new library which is mounted as follows it works too:
G:\test\xxx
As soon as I change the library to UNC path it fails.
\SYNOLOGY24\xxx
@wedgelite rolling back wonāt fix the issue, Iāve tried this already as stated above, unless you really want to go even further back. But Iām unsure what it will do to your library when using the new plex movie agent.
Just adding another one - Iām having this same issue. Videos and subtitles on a network share.
Disable the subtitle and it works fine, though not having subtitles is a show stopper.
