Since updating to the latest version, I’m getting “conversion failed. The transcoded failed to start up.” Constantly, for every file I play with subtitles.
disabling subtitles fixes the issue, but it would be nice if I could use subtitles..
Plex pass user, happens on all devices. Any ideas?

Regardless of media type, as soon as I apply srt subtitles, the same error occurs…?
Plex media server is running on my same windows machine prior updating, it’s definitely a subtitle issue as media plays fine before applying the subs, is this happening to anyone else?
Did you disable transcoding?
Same here! Everything’s fine until I use the remote to apply subs at the TV, and then the server crashes.
Hopefully Plex can fix whatever they broke in the next update.
tell us a bit more about your player. is it smart tv plex or maybe ATV 4K, Roku, or Shield?
Check the player settings for stopping subtitle burn and try what MovieFan suggests. He is extremely good at this. Also try testing with external SRTs versus ones included in the video as another track.
